Congressional Federal Credit Union (“Congressional Federal”) has many important assets, however, our most critical asset is our reputation for integrity. The success of our business is dependent on the trust and confidence we earn from our employees and our membership. We gain credibility by adhering to our commitments, operating with honesty and integrity, and attaining company goals through honorable conduct. Inherent to the nature of being a financial institution, we are held to higher standards than other industries. Congressional Federal employees are required, as a condition of employment, to conduct themselves according to the highest ethical principles, to avoid even the appearance of impropriety or unfairness to members and, at a minimum, to avoid any actions or situations that could be illegal, unethical, or otherwise improper or that could otherwise damage the reputation or interests of the company.

In most situations, our personal values and integrity will guide us to the right decision. However, we must always keep in mind how our actions affect the credibility of our organization as a whole, and for this reason, our business ethics must reflect the values and standards of conduct outlines in the Code. We encourage each employee to ask questions, seek guidance and express and concerns that they may have.
